COLOUR
Pale straw.
NOSE
Vibrant aromas of passionfruit, citrus blossom and gooseberry.
PALATE
Lively flavours of fresh lime, green pineapple and a hint of lemongrass, carried by a zesty acidity.
WINEMAKING
Harvested in the cold of night, pressed immediately to retain freshness, with the juice separated from the skins straight away. A small portion, approximately 18% of final blend, underwent fermentation in French oak barrels, which was left on lees for 6 months to build texture. The remainder was fermented instainless steel to retain fruit vibrancy and freshness.
VINTAGENOTES
2020 was a warm and dry vintage, however a wetter than average winter set us up well for this. The growing season started off with a warm spring followed by a hot summer. We did have one significant rain event late February which slowed down the reds and allowed for ripening of tannin and flavour to catch up with sugars. The warm and dry conditions reduced disease pressure, this also resulted in ample marri blossom around the district which eased the bird pressure experienced in 2019. Yields were low across the board, but on the upside this resulted in excellent quality with concentration of flavour across all varieties.
